The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive was passed into law by the European Union (E.U.). After July 1, 2006 the use of certain hazardous will be banned in new products sold in Europe. RoHS Compliance means that in conformity to EU Directive 2002/95/EC of 27 January 2003, on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers are not present in quantities exceeding the following maximum concentrations in any homogeneous material, except for applicable exemptions. 0.1% (by weight of homogeneous material) lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, or 0.01% (by weight of homogeneous material) cadmium. All ASJ manufactured products are of lead free termination products which comply with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC since September 2004. A unique part number shall identify our lead free Chip Resistor products as per Lead Free Product Family. |

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances) ![]() |
---|
REACH is a new European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, innovative capability and competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry should be enhanced. The benefits of the REACH system will come gradually, as more and more substances are phased into REACH. ASJ has noted that European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published the first list of 15 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) for the authorization process according to the Annex XIV of 1907/2006 REACH directive on Oct 9th, 2008. We declare and warrant that all our finished products do not contain substances on the REACH SVHC candidate list in the table below in concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight per article. |
